Enter your date of birth to find your Life Path number — with every reduction step shown and master numbers handled correctly.
How the calculation works
- Reduce the month: December (12) becomes 1 + 2 = 3.
- Reduce the day: 25 becomes 2 + 5 = 7. Days 11, 22 and 29 (2 + 9 = 11) keep their master value.
- Reduce the year: 1990 becomes 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19, then 1 + 9 = 10, then 1.
- Add the three: 3 + 7 + 1 = 11. Because 11 is a master number, it stays 11.
Your Life Path is considered the most important number in a numerology chart. It describes your overall direction — the strengths you can rely on and the lessons you tend to repeat. Read the full profile for your number in our Life Path library.
Frequently asked questions
How is the Life Path number calculated?
Reduce the month, day and year of your birth separately to a single digit or master number, add the three results, and reduce the total again — keeping 11, 22 and 33 unreduced.
Why do different websites give different Life Path numbers?
Some sites add every digit of the date at once, which can hide master numbers. Reducing month, day and year separately is the most widely taught method and is what we use.
