What each number means
- Expression (Destiny) — all letters. Your natural talents and the way you tend to work.
- Soul Urge (Heart’s Desire) — vowels only. What motivates you privately.
- Personality — consonants only. The first impression you give others.
Each letter maps to a digit: A, J and S are 1; B, K and T are 2; and so on through I and R at 9. The totals are reduced to a single digit, except for master numbers 11, 22 and 33.
Frequently asked questions
Should I use my birth name or my current name?
Traditional numerology uses your full name exactly as it appears on your birth certificate for core numbers. Many people also calculate their current name to compare how they present today.
Is Y a vowel in numerology?
We treat Y as a vowel when it is not next to another vowel (as in 'Lynn') and as a consonant otherwise (as in 'Yolanda').
